BUTTER STICK: Fiberglass fanatics, rejoice! There's a new BUTTER STICK in town. Unfortunately we just never got around to testing the original, but this newly-revised version looks absolutely killer and I can't wait to try one. Featuring retro graphics and a slow action deemed the "Heritage Taper," these fiberglass rods looks like they'll be a real treat to fish.

Built with T-glass fiberglass construction, each rod is 3-pieces with alignment dots at each ferrule. Redington will launch the series with rods ranging from a tiny 5'9" 1-weight on up to an 8'0" 8-weight. Rods in the 1–5 weight category will have cork reel seats with sliding rings and retail for $249.99. The two heavier 6 and 8 weight rods will sport saltwater-friendly anodized aluminum reel seats, fighting butts, and strengthened butt sections at a cost of $279.99 each. All rods come with a cordura tube with inner dividers.
GRANDE Reel: We're big fans of the BEHEMOTH reel series, but the new GRANDE takes things up a notch. While the BEHEMOTH is die-cast and comes equipped with a very powerful (but not fully sealed) drag, this new offering boasts even higher levels of refinement. Both inside and out, the GRANDE looks to be all business.
Fully CNC machined from T-6061 anodized aluminum, these reels are built to offer up a ton of power. Speaking of power, inside there's a new Super Torque carbon drag system that's now fully-sealed from the elements. Adjustment comes via the large easy-to-grab drag knob on the back of the frame.
Along with an oversized palming rim and a large, soft-touch machined Delrin handle, the V-shaped spool arbor now has a new design featuring a "backing canal" aimed to reduce line stacking up while also increasing backing capacity. A final noteworthy aspect of each reel is a foot that's positioned for maximum fight-fighting efficiency which also features rounded edges so a leader can be wrapped around without being damaged.
Color choices include Marine, Champagne, or Black with sizes including a 5/6/7 and 7/8/9 for $299.99 (spare spools run $149.99), and a 9/10/11, 11/12/13, and beastly 14+ all priced at $349.99 with spare spools for these sizes costing $174.99. Each reel includes a nylon case.

DUALLY Two-Handed Rods: The DUALLY series of rods has undergone some revisions including lighter rod weights, better tip stability, new handle designs utilizing soft-touch EVA pinch grips, and the change to anodized aluminum reel seats. Several rod series' within the DUALLY lineup will launch including: two 10'6" Trout Spey rods in 3 and 4 weight ($249.99), Switch Rods in 11'0" 5 and 6 weights and 11'6" 7 and 8 weights ($249.99), and Spey Rods in 12'6" 6 and 7 weights or 13'6" 7 or 8 weights ($279.99). While all of these rods are finished in a bronze color scheme, a Special Edition Purple series of 7 weights will also be available including rods measuring 11'6" ($249.99), 12'6" ($279.99), and a 13'6" ($279.99).
*Redington was not in attendance at IFTD this year, but I'm glad I was able to see at least a few samples first-hand at the show. Look for all the new Redington gear listed here to become available in August!
