Array V2 Fly Reel: A fine pick for salt or fresh, this new large-arbor reel from Taylor Fly Fishing is an improvement on the original. Touting a stronger frame and more robust drag, it utilizes an all-new system comprised of 8 stacked carbon washers which produces up to 8-pounds of drag. There's also an isolated clutch bearing in its own chamber to protect it from moisture and debris.
Fully-machined from 6061-T6 anodized aluminum, the V2 can be had in black, limited-edition red, slate grey, and gold. Priced from $269.99, sizes include a 2–4, 4–6, 6–8, and 8–10. Available now.
T1 Fly Reel: Machined from anodized 6061-T6 aluminum, large-arbor T1 reels are some of the lightest sealed-drag reels around, with the 4–6 size weighing just 4.5 ounces. Among the many features include a U-shaped spool surface, carbon drag material, and availability in black/navy, black/ruby red, black/golden olive, and black/gunmetal color combinations.
There's a 4–6 size ($220) and a 7–9 size ($240) on the way. Available for preorder staring August 1st, they'll be shipping beginning in late October.
Anthem Fly Rods: Medium-fast action Anthem fly rods should be ideal for softer presentations at shorter range. They will include stainless stripping and snake guides along with a rod tube and sock. Look for these to become available this fall with prices somewhere in the low $200 range. Sizes will include a 3,4,5,6, and 8-weight.
Truth Fly Rods: Taylor's premium rods, the Truth series delivers some stealthy goodies. The features list includes black titanium-framed stripping guides with SiC inserts, black snake guides, and aluminum reel seats with graphite spacers. These ultra-fast action fly rods will run in the low $500 range and come in the two most versatile sizes: 5 and 8-weight. Coming later this year.
