Bad Ass Glass (BAG): You may be thinking "hey, these aren't new." Heck, I even reviewed the 9-foot 8-weight model here. While the entire lineup has been around for a bit, new 8-foot "Quickshot" rods are joining the lineup. Featuring the same design and cosmetics as the standard BAG rods, these shortened sticks come in 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10-weight sizes. I handled the 6 and 8-weights at the IFTD show and the difference was instantly apparent—noticeably lighter in-hand and a snappier feeling. I feel a review coming on really soon! MSRP $279.99.
Swing Two Hand: Echo Swing rods will arrive in two varieties. Switch rods will come in an 11'6" 6-weight, 11'7" 7-weight, and 11'8" 8-weight. Spey models are comprised of a 12'6" 6-weight, 13'0" 7-weight, and 13'6" 8-weight. These rods feature crisp actions and dark aluminum reel seats with double reel seat ring locks at an MSRP of $249.99.
Traverse Kit: Arriving in the form of a ready-to-go combo, the Traverse Kit offers anglers a Traverse rod and large-arbor aluminum ION reel that's already spooled with backing and a premium Airflo fly line. Choose from 9-foot 4, 5, or 6-weight sizes. MSRP $249.99 which includes a combo rod/reel case.
Bravo Fly Reel: The brand-new Bravo is a large-arbor reel that's perfect for fresh or saltwater. Even though the samples at the IFTD show were machined, the production variety will be made from die-cast aluminum. Features include a fully-sealed carbon fiber "Pit Stop" disc-drag system which the angler can access without the use of tools. Available in 7/9, 8/10, and 10/12 sizes. Expect an MSRP of $139.99 which includes a protective pouch.
*We're told these new products will be available by early to mid October.
